One of my recent quarter imperials, though it's a bit blurry at this size.

Let me know what you think.

John—

I think this is Great! I like the interpretive design—or stylization— you have used throughout the piece. The subtle free-sections of color glazes is working well as a compliment to the entire picture.

As I have mentioned before, I wish we knew something of the background, training and aspirations of artists when they submit their work for general comment. Regardless. Keep up the excellent work.

Paul

Thanks for your kind remarks Paul.

I've updated my personal info so you can know a little more about me. Here is another one of my recent ones, a little more straightforward this time:

John—

I just read your bio and reviewed your paintings on both on your website and several books of your work. You are a marvelous talent and your work is magnificent. I like both your traditional style and the more stylized look of your recent work.

I just hope you will continue to be an active member of Artist Daily. There are so many young artists who could use occasional direction and comment from a talented artist like yourself.

Excellent work—

Paul

Thank you Paul for your most generous words.I have been rather out of things on the web for the last year owing to ill health, I used to be fairly active in some of the forums and as I am much healthier nowadays I hope to be of some use here in the future perhaps.

We've both obviously been doing this art stuff a long time and having looked at your site I can appreciate the quality and skill behind your excellent watercolours and expert figure work.

It does seem a pity to me that young people find it so hard to get decent instruction in the basic art skills. I'm afraid the examples I've seen of digital work show that old characters like us are not around to teach them any more.

I've just been expanding my library of books by my two favourite inspiring artists Rowland Hilder and Moira Huntly and just leafing through their stuff is an inspiring thing altogether.

Thanks again

John
