Sarah, a beautiful first Christmas Tree. I love the background and sky colours. These warm colours certainly give you the feeling of hope and happiness that is to be derived from the Christmas tree. I wondered about how you put the colour down in the sky to get the lighter colour over the darker colour. Lovely Christmas painting.

Sarah...Such a beautiful tree! I really like the background idea as it shares some of this particular trees history. Beautiful colors too.

Hello Bonnie...just by lots of glazing and also leaving the paper white where I wanted the glazingt to be much lighter to achieve the contrast.

There was a sunset here similar to this last night..the sky looked as if it was on fire. Fantastic.

Sarah, I echo the comments of others ... the "first tree" is lovely. A very pretty effect, too, with lifting paint off in rays coming from the setting sun.

Hello Sarah ~ Your "First Christmas Tree" is so vibrant.  Great how you left the white spaces.  They just glow!  The ribbon of light from the far village to the tree is so creative.  You are a master of composition.Star

Sarah, "The First Christmas Tree" is beautiful.  There are many things that excite me about a painting and I think that color is at the top.  These vibrant colors are exciting.  The sky is terrific.
