Hi All,

Jane wont' be directly answering any new technical questions posted here.  Feel free to post questions, but know that they will be answered by other members of the forum and sometimes the editorial team when they have a few free moments.

These other "locked" posts were put here for your review and enjoyment, hopefully to give you some feedback on questions or concerns.

Thank you!

As a new comer to your magazine, I must say, I sure enjoy the daily newsletter and all information you impart to us.  I'm working in acrylics now but where I live (southern California) it sure is hot and dry so the paints dry as fast as it gets laid down and extenders just don't help.  So now I'm thinking it would be a good time to switch to oils and try some painting on panels.  My question to y'all is, why cant I make my panels from white linen from a fabric shop instead of canvas or linen from a supplier?  I love the smooth surface to work on and feel that the texture of fabric would be just what I'm looking for.

Thanks from Hemet
