Thank you Joyce for your comments...
your still life is bold and has a contemporary look...I'd leave it as it is.

Thanks for the comments Jen, Sarah and Marsha. Jen thanks for the idea of more shading.
All C & C's always welcome
My version of the Renoir. Painted in watercolour on A5 size heavy Bockingford. I have included myself painting ein plein air instead of Monet!!! My easel is made of tubulat metal.
Joyce, a very nice acrylic still life! It does have a modern "pop art" kind of look, which is all the rage in contemporary art.
Sarah, a clever idea putting yourself in this rendition of Renoir's painting. You got a very interesting effect with your watercolors - very soft.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Jen C & C's always welcome
Theank you Alex and Jen..
I couldn't resist the temptation as I am always advocating plein air painting!!!
Sarah this is beautiful and suits you well, I love the village on the outside of the garden as well as your choice of colors. Very enjoyable to look at
Joyce ~ Your acrylic still life painting is striking. I especially like the nice background color.
Sarah ~ Your take on the Renoir painting is lovely. That's a good pose you painted of yourself too. Love the hat!
Comments and critiques are welcome.

Hmm...we'll that is irritating. Can't turn the pic from my iPad
Hi Mike! I'm so glad someone attempted the roosters and you did a great job. Love his colors (esp. the head) and it fits in with our "Impressionist painters" this month. I don't know about the I-pads, but I am guessing there is a simple rotate & crop somewhere in there!! I just use my Kodak printer's built-in features. I'm pretty "old school"!
Here is my feeble attempt at Cezanne. Watercolors on rough 6" x 8" WC paper. I sure would not have placed the items the way Cezanne did.....just sayin'!!
I pulled your picture off and rotated it for you.... I love the looseness of your fine feathered friend.... great job.... with a nice soft touch.
