Holly I love all the reference photos. I am hoping to have some time this month to paint.
Alessandra Welcome. I look forward to seeing your work.
Sarah A lovely vibrant painting of the jubilee.
Marsha Your drawings of the native and bear are fantastic.
Alex How fun having the bear dressed for halloween. I love it.
C&Cs always welcome
Alex, your bear certainly brought on a huge smile. He is so cute in his costume with the little hat. Great idea.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Marsha, Jen, Karen, Geri, and Bonnie, thanks for commenting on my bearrito.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
OK Where to begin, Golly Holly it's hard to believe we've been at this for more than 3 yrs. counting the previous forum except when I look at my pile of paintings. Thank you for your gracious comments about me and Bruno. Marsha your pencil work is super, those late hours sure seem to emphasize your artistic abilities and Alex, looks like Bruno is bringing home the bacon for his mate. I thought I take a stab at the country lane using pastel and because of my lack of patience I wandered off to abstract anyhow here's Bruno taking a stroll down the lane 6x8 on mat board

Holly ~ These are great reference photos - something for everyone, I'd say! And copying the Masters is a great idea! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's input. How many of you have been active in this group for all three years?
Sarah ~ Intriguing watercolor of the "Queen's Jubilee". I see a festival of lights & a torch. Thanks for pointing out the dove. I love happy accidents!
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Fred, Bruno's walk down the country lane is lovely. Wish I could take a walk down this lane just not at the same time as Bruno. The pastels show off the season's colours. Nicely done.
Marsha ~ I like your two pencil drawings, especially the Native American. I am also drawn to that photo - it has alot of appeal to me and you captured his "aura" well, I think.
Alexandra ~ I knew this was your bear right off!! I mean "Bearrito". I did laugh when I read your little caption! Seriously though, the bear's head is nice with a range of darks that give him dimension.
Fred ~ Your "Country Lane" pastel has the nicest colors and the patch of light green on the left side tree is beautiful. The addition of 'strolling Bruno' gives it much more interest!
The month of October is off to a great start here!
I joined Dec 22 2011, Alex was here before me.
Hello Holly, we haven't meet yet, I joined the forum 3 month ago. So for me it is also a small 3rd anniversary. Hard to believe you're coming up with these great photo challenges every month for 3 years now. Your anniversary pictures for this month are great. Be fun painting some of them.
Sarah, your wc is fantastic, interessting that the dove happened by accident. It looked like you planned it with all the wonderful colours.
Marsha, your two drawings are very well done. Evenso the bear is so cute, my favorite drawing is the indian, it is exceptional.
Alex, what a wonderful idea making a halloween bear painting. I like the colors and the soft look of your drawing. Makes me feel that i want to hug that bear.
C&C always welcome
