A wedding present commissioned last year. Acrylic on canvas, 5" x 7". My first time doing Asian dragons. What do you guys think of this piece?
I call this The Sushi Buddha. acrylic on canvas. What do you guys think?
This piece is acrylic on canvas, about 18" x 20". The very first phoenix and fire experiment I did. Now the phoenix has become a regular image I paint. I'd like to see what folks think of this piece.
This is a piece i did several years ago. It's acrylic on canvas, about 18" x 24". The fire lotus has become another staple image in many paintings. I'd like to see what people think of this one.
I like how the fire/heart in the dragon picture appears to glow.
The Sushi Buddha is my favorite of these paintings. I like the lighthearted nature of it.
The stars in the background of the phoenix, really help the black from being too powerful.
Neat use of colors on the lotus. I'm not sure what is coming off of the petals, but I think it really adds interest to the painting. Is it writing or just a design? (I'm sorry for being so ignorant!)
The stuff coming off the petals are supposed to be "kanji". I don't actually know how to write in Chinese or Japanese, so I made up my own version of it. I was wanting to go for sparks that fly off of flames.
My favorite is the Phoenix Painting. It jumps right out at me as a special piece. Drawing realistic looking flames can be really tricky and you did an excellent job with them. The space background really makes the flames stand out. The Pheonix itself is just awesome!
