It is amazing and it is happening right before our eyes.
Artist Daily is being hijacked by a few cheap promoters of crummy "B" movies and dead head TV productions. We have a successful forum here. Artists can share their work, ask questions and receive helpful suggestions—and some cheesy individuals see it as a good way to plug their trash. I'm not referring to the regular paid advertising space that appears.
Today, four of the five "Forum Topics" listed on the home page are actually promotions for movie downloads that have nothing to do with art or the concerns of our members.
What we can do about this is let the monitors and editors of Artist Daily know that we are not interested in this trash being promoted in what is really Our Forum. Without us, the members, there would be no Artists Daily. Let them know that we are not interested in freeloaders taking up space that is meant for the benefit of our members. It would probably mean someone at Artist Daily spending a few minutes each day cleaning out all of the postings that are no more than free ads.
I agree with you Paul.
I have all Artist Daily emails marked as spam until it is dealt with.
Hopefully we can get back to the way it was.

I 100% agree there is a need for these types of posts to be removed especially in specific forums. I know that spambots have gotten out of control lately on a few other forums I visit but the moderators usually delete the posts and make it more dificult for them to sign up by making questions only humans can answer.
To all members—
Once again, four out of the five Artist Daily Forum Topics feartured on the home page are SPAM.
That is not nice. It is trash. It is our Forum. Do you want to leave it this way?
Right now I keep thinking of the famous scene from the old 1930s Frankenstein movie—the night scene of all the farmers and towns people rising up in frenzied protest with pitch forks and hoes. Well fellow artists, that's us and this is our cue! Go grab your pitch fork, your hoe or broom and join the rest of us. We are mad as hell and we aren't going to take it any more! Let the editors of this fine forum know that you aren't interested in it going to trash. Tell them that you want a 15 minute muck raking of the place once a day!
If they want to pedal trash, the SPAM lords can go some place else!
I have been working on getting Artist Daily cleaned up as best I can, and appreciate your continued help pointing out spam posts. It seems as soon as I find one post there are 10 more, it's really become quite an overwhelming problem.
I am also working with our development team to find a solution to keep more of these types of posts out. Just to let you know that we hear what you are saying. Thanks.

It is good to know that you are in there pitching for all of us. When things get tough, just go over and open the window, stick your head out there and yell the immortal words from the movie classic, "Network". "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
I'm sure you have a lot of ideas on this but I'll give you another anyway. If you keep your eye on the home page Forum Topics and clean the trash out two or three times a day, you will solve the core of the problem. I am sure it is frustrating but remember there are a lot of us who truly appreciate what you are doing. So, grab your pitchfork and join the rest of us screaming townspeople out here in the night!
Keep up the good work.
You have your work cut out for you!
Today, 10/13/13, in the "Outside the Studio Forum", some person named "langbilong" posted a pitch for "REAL AND FAKE PASSPORTS, ID CARDS etc..." and the list goes on to include everything including fake diplomas. That is bad enough but some sharp employee of Artist Daily awarded the person 20 points for posting this junk. This stuff isn't even legal.
We appreciate your efforts but lets see some reasonable results. The fact that it was a weekend doesn't figure. Someone was around the offices long enough to award the jerk 20 points. Anyone in their right mind would have removed the posting.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. The system for points works automatically, awarding them based on the type of post. I assure you that if any admin would have come across the post it would have been promptly deleted, which I was just able to do.
You can continue to aid us by hitting the report abuse link on these posts as you come across them. I found one today that was actually a reply to a legitimate thread. There would be almost no way of finding that other than I happened to randomly click on it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, purchased new pitchfork over the weekend for aiding in the townspeople’s plight ;-)
Thanks, TiffanyAudience Development for Artist Daily
Hang in there! Thanks for letting me know about hitting the "report abuse" link.
I'm sure that I sound like a fanatic about ridding the site of abuse. However, I will help in any way possible.
Glad to hear you have your pitchfork ready!
