nice sketch E.D
Karen, you've nailed her. Will you suggest a bit of her top yet? You've shown some great contrast here too.

Hello, Im Beverly and I am glad you are so motivating. This is my first time here and it is a great forum. I would like to participate and have fun sharing my art attempts and know I can learn a lot from the others here they are all very talented.
Alex ~ Thanks for explaining how you used your wc pencils. I may try it sometime. I found I DO have a small set of them!
I hope that I can get to do one or two from this month's challenge but it has to go on the back burner right now. I'm an active member in our local quilt guild and the big show is the last weekend in Sept. It's called QUILTING AROUND CHAUTAUQUA if anyone is close! We always raffle off a bed sized quilt & I have stepped up to the plate to finish the top as no one else has volunteered at this late date. I'm also working on another art quilt for the show - it may get done, or not, LOL. I'll still check in to see & comment on everyone's wonderful art.
Comments and critiques are welcome.
SO good to see you here. Please consider filling out the profile info. and if you'd like helpful comments/criticism (C&C), you can add that to your signature line. Very much look forward to seeing your work soon, as well as getting to know you better. WELCOME!
Nealey, sorry I just missed seeing your comment. Hope you DO get time somehow, but I can't talk since I'm in a similar boat. I'd say let's trade projects, but you would NOT be happy with my quilting! Best wishes for your show!
E.D. ~ I'm impressed with your two portrait drawings. You've come a long way from the first drawings I have seen. Great job & keep it up!
Alex ~ Wow, your new bud is awesome! I think you are stepping up in your practice as a watercolor artist.
Nealy Pea I have to give the forum an apology. The things I post here to me were for fun to share in something with the artist on this site. I did almost everything I posted in haste in my sketch book to share in something with you. The way I paint is nothing more than drawings painted. If you go to my name on the gallery and look at my stuff you will see that is what I do. I can't go out of the lines I am restricked by my thoughts. I was trying to be free here. I will try not to be so hasty and that you for the wonderful comment about my drawing. I will try to take more time. Everyone is doing a wonderful job with their art, the photo's this month are very inspiring.
Hello Karen ~ Sorry I missed your sketch before......I like how you have caught her smiling eyes. You can tell by your sketch that the Guatemalan girl is having fun!
Kim thank you so much for the black and white photo. Do you have any advice about how to make the colored pencils blend to make the skin tone out of the basic light green and red and a little brown? I used Prismacolor pencils. I tried layering them but couldn't get them to become one just separate colors on top of each other. I love everyones work this month and Fred just adds some playfulness that is great!
Hi Liz - First, I'm sure no apologies are nec. whatsoever. Having fun was a big part of the chall. directions! If I or others offer advice, it's not to limit your sense of freedom, but to be helpful. I always apprec. when someome makes me stretch to consider something, but if I don't want to take on their idea, I may file it mentally for another time or just file it perm. in the round file - since it is for enjoyment. This forum is great to share one's works and exchange thoughts - all meant in good spirit.
Sorry I don't have more help re. blending. Perhaps Bonnie can share where she downloaded the CP instructions from, or perhaps Sam, Marsha, or someone else will be able to add something helpful. Anyway, glad you shared your sketchbook and always look fwd. to more.
Liz. like the way you worked on the two girls. The expressions of both of them are not easy to capture,That's why I did the crayons I think I like the pencil sketch more, but they're both lovely.
Karen, nice sketch of the girl, will yo take it further and do a painting?
Alex, your darks are great. On the first geranium I liked that you put a little orange or yellow in.
Hello Beverly, yes, show us your art!!!
C&C always welcome
Sorry all for procrastinating. I have been reading the post just not had much time to post. Bonnie your crayons on the ruled paper is very nice. Lines are straight and all have shadows. I think maybe a slightly darker color for the shadows would have kept the shadow from blending with the blue crayon. Well done.
C and C always welcomed
