Thank you Sarah.
C&Cs always welcome
Very nice sunflower Karen. I always like sunflowers.
C and C always welcomed
Karen, your sunflower is perfect, it is just like the reference picture.
I went on a short vacation into the alps. I packed sketching materials but instead I just shot photos. I'm still unpacking and will get to the other artwork posted latley later.
C&C always welcome
Jen C & C's always welcome
It looks that quite a few of you have a dog.
Nealey, your dog Cosmo turned out great, did you use a reference photo? You got the hairball details and the perspective is great. Looks diffcult to do.
Alex, I love your painting of Yessica in the wheat field. You always capture the light so well and everything has this soft touch.
Sarah, I admire all the work you do, but my personal favourite is the boy with the tractor so far.
Cristina, 3 beautiful pictures, The butterfly is lovely, the perspective is very nice and the sunlight. Fascinating composition of the bright sunflower and the pale Lady with the green eyes. Nicely done!. And, an other cute hairball (Is it a Chi tsu, my brother has a dog that looks just like yours) I love the texture.
Geri, the hogs look great, i love the colors you choose.
Jen, that looks like a lot of movement, difficult, difficult, but you captured that happy moment, very nice!!!
Claudia ~ Thanks so much for commenting on my dog drawing. Yes I took photos. Luckily I had my camera in my purse next to me so I caught good window lighting! (I was lying next to him reading - It was a real hot afternoon!)
Comments and critiques are welcome.
uh.....I was reading, not Cosmo!
This is an encaustic painting on wood, 27,6" x 19,7". It is of my dog Bandit. He is a Dalmatian x Golden Retriever mix (Don't ask were the Golden Retriever went). He hates water, so the Koi are save. I used a reference Photo, too. The dog won't sit still.
C&C always welcome
Very well spotted dog Claudia and the koi must know they are safe to swim so close to him!

feel free to make constructive c/c...no digital alterations please
Claudia, I think bandit is a perfect name for your dog. I'm with Sarah, the koi must know they are safe. You have captured him very well, his stance and facial expressions are great. I like the splash of colour from the koi. Nicely done.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Claudia maybe it is the Koi that Bandit is afraid of not the water. They are circling like a pack of sharks
Thank you, Sarah, Bonnie and Geri for your nice comments.
Geri maybe you're right, i have never thought about it, the dog might have a trauma. As a puppy bad experience with Koi
Claudia, I am amazed and impressed each time I look at the detail and expressions and shading you achieve using encaustics. The portrait of Bandit and the koi is no exception.
Here is a small (4" x 4") sketch of a burdock (no butterfly). I purchased water soluble graphite and am trying to learn how to use it. The touch of color comes from a WC pencil.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Claudia ~ Bandit is a good-looking dog! Nice dimensional shapes. He looks to me that he's worried the Koi will jump out and bite him!
