Jen C & C's always welcome
Hi all. I have been really busy with work so have not commented in a while. I have been watching all the great works. Fantastic job to all.
C&Cs always welcome
NealyPea I had the same problem when I first joined the group except I am a Sir not a Maam. I get it all the time especially in the mail. Letters addressed to MS Geri Berkenstock. You know right off they are not exactly a close friend.
C and C always welcomed
Pause (paws) for thought!!!! The forepaws looked hairy therefore I decided they were as you wanted them to look because the paw showing the pad was well observed.
Time to use colour??? YES!!!

My dear friends you are awesome!!! I love this community!!!
Thank you all for so lovely comments, suggestions, critiques on my works, this is mean a lot to me, greatly appreciated!!!
Hello Nealey...back in the very distant past I had to sign my work with only my initials in order for it to be taken seriously. My subjects were not what females were expected to paint so my initials made me sort of anonymous.
Thanks to all who commented on my 'boy blue' ...Sheila the tractor was the hardest part!!!
I have stared at this painting fo0r over a week trying to figure out what to do with it. I put on a couple finishing touches and gave up. I call it jus HOGS. It is 8x10 WC on arches rough
Geri, I just love this watercolor. It is very arty, has a lovely palette, and the pigs have attitude.
I'm not sure how you would do this (a little gray in the tan area around his snout?), but on the left hand hog, the part of his face around his snout could perhaps be shaded so it looks like it narrows down to his snout. Not sure I explained that clearly, so I hope you know what I mean ...
I never thought I would say this about hogs, but this is a painting I would frame and put on my wall!
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Geri ~ HOG HEAVEN!! I like the colors& the composition. Did you use a mask for the barbed wire? I am going to pick up some Frisket & give it a try. The left side hog might be more barrel shaped in his chest. Think fat sausages, hahaha!
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Geri, love your HOGS. I like your use of some purple in the shadows and the yellow in the sunlit areas. And I really like the background. The hogs are great with their own personality. Lovely watercolour.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Geri, ignore what I said about the lefthand hog. Now that I look again, I think I gave you bad advice!
Nealy the barb wire was originally painted in but some places didn't show up so I scathed it with the point of a knife
Nealey Bonnie and Alex thank you for your comments I am glad you enjoyed it.
Geri, gotta love those Hogs! Great colours and composition. Love them!
Just did this sketch of Curley's baby brother. I guess it goes here as a dog day as he is off on a sunny day. Not too good or accurate but I think it caught his joy. the lighting was too sunny not enough shadows.
