Nealy Cosmo looks so relaxed. Your darks and highlights are great and that is what makes a good drawing. Well done sir.
C and C always welcomed
Denis, Cristina, Sarah, Bonnie and Geri, thank you for our very kind comments on my painting of Jessica. I very much appreciate your taking the time to do that.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Sheila, the Gallery is looking great - so many lovely pieces! Thank you for taking time to post this week's work.
Thanks for all the nice comments on my Boy. Lots of inaccuracies but a fun challenge.
Sarah, I really like your two dog paintings. Jeeves is particularly lively with quick but effective strokes. They look like loving companions. Thanks for your comments on my sketch and I take no offence at a good crit. His head is more the age of the boy in the reference but his body grew up!
Christina, Nice bright energetic paintings. Your dog is so sweet and has great texture. he might n\benefit from having some shadows on his back leg to give him depth.
Alex, Great job on Jessica's expression especially so small. Faces that small are really difficult to do. Great job on the grasses.
Nealey. Perfect dog days picture! You have done such a good job with capturing his anatomy and relaxed pose. Really nice work.
Jen C & C's always welcome
Cosmo...lovely dog... and you have used more light and shade in this drawing.

Hello to all who have commented on 'my' dogs......I am sure they will be delighted too.
My small boy is facing the other way! playing with a toy tractor.

Nealy, very nice sketch of Cosmo. His fur looks fluffy and you have done a good job of the darks and his form shows well. He is certainly enjoying his nap. I like how you have sketched the puffiness of the bed cover as well.
Sarah, good painting of the small boy. His hat is great, and love the textured grass background. Nicely done.
Sheila, the gallery is coming along nicely, It is great to look over everyone's wonderful work again, and become inspired.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Hello Sheila Gallery is coming along nicely, thanks for all the effort you are making on our behalf.
Sarah, a charming watercolor of the little boy playing with the truck. I, too, really like the way the grass is painted in the background, as well as the flagstones. So cute with his pants drooping - very characteristic of a little boy!
Sarah - Awesome!!! Your boy looks a lot like my son Nathan when he was that age - playing with tractors of course. The colors are very good. I like how you have his head tilted. I did something similar a while back, but the boy in a sand pile. Great Job!!!

Charming painting Sarha.. I am sure it brings back memories to our kids were that age.
beautyful drawing love it

First I want to thank you SHEILA for setting up this month's gallery AND staying on top of it. Your dedication is appreciated! It looks great too. :)
DENIS and JOSEPH ~ Hello to two new artists. Denis, your oil painting of "Jessica" is a compliment to the photo. Portraits are the hardest!
Joseph ~ Your surfer painting is impressive. I really like that stripe of red that is a focal point to an otherwise subdued painting.
Jen ~ Hello and kudos on your oil painting of your grandson(?) and his fun in the rain. You captured it nicely. I liked your pen sketch of the boy too.
E.D. ~ Your pastel of the ducks is nice, especially the reflections in the water.
Bonnie ~ What a wonderful pencil drawing of the sunflower. It is one of your best, I think.
Fred ~ Every picture tells a story! This one made me chuckle! Cute hound dog too.
Claudia ~ I like what you did making a still life arrangement of the sunflower. And grinding your own pigments - I'm impressed!
Cristina ~ Your bright Acrylic paintings are so full of energy. My favorite is the butterfly and clouds!
Alex ~ Your "Jessica" painting is so full of sunlight. I esp. liked the Impressionistic way you painted the wheat. Your sunflower bud is more detailed & shadowed than your earlier WCs. Very nice. Is this because you are seeing more? Of course, I just want to cuddle with your fuzzy piglet! Charming.
Sarah ~ I enjoy your dog paintings. We do love our pets, don't we? Your WC landscapes make me want to pick up a paintbrush again! Yes, COLOR - dare I?? LOL . The toddler WC is adorable. I even see his little diaper (or nappy, as you call them) peeking out of his pants!
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Sheila, Alex, Geri, Jen, Sarah and Bonnie your comments on Cosmo are very much appreciated.
I worked on this very carefully to get a likeness. His forepaws are not quite right, but they are the general shape. Sarah, I'm surprised you didn't catch that with your "critical eye"! Bonnie, the cover he is laying on is an old quilt I made years ago. It is very worn and soft and I think the lines help with the feeling of restfulness.
Geri, thank you for your kindness. Alas, I am a "Ma'am", not a "SIR". ROFL. ( Nealey wonders if it changes your perception of her work..... ) Don't worry, Geri, there is no way of you knowing, as I never indicated anything personal about myself!
