Cristina, your work has such a distinctive look that is all your own. The butterfly, sunflower and woman, and your sweet puppy's picture are all beautiful and have that slightly stylized look that is emblematic of your art.
Sheila, here is my interpretation of your photo of Jessica in the wheat field. She is a beautiful girl and I apologize if this doesn't do her justice. This is a 4" x 6" painting in watercolor pencils and gouache on 140 pound hot pressed paper.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Alexandra I love the atmosphere of the painting and the colors, I sense the energy of the young woman. Very nice.
Comment and critique are welcome
Alex, so wonderful words, thank you so much, greatly appreciate it!!!
You did such a lovely work, I know Jessica and Sheila will love your painting, great colors, atmosphere and light!!!
Hello Alex......agree with Denis,
I would say this is one of your best and that the red of the dress contrasts well against the chalkiness effect of the gouache elsewhere. .

Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Hi Sheila, I just replaced the painting of Jessica with one where I worked more on her face and ear. Could you please use this latest version in the Gallery? Many thanks.
Cristina - Beautiful paintings. Your dog is soooooooo cute, I can't believe he doesn't want to play. Desires is very nice. I like the strong contrast between the face and the sunflower. I especially like the details you put in the sunflower. Touching the Sun is also very nice. The sun rays touching the wings of the butterfly are great!!!
Alex - Wonderfully done!!! Like your interpretation of Jessica in the wheat field I especially like the softness. Can't wait to share with my daughter. Question - your latest post says something about working more on her face and ear - I saw the one you posted earlier. Did you post another - did I miss it? I'll wait to post week 2 of the gallery until I hear back from you.
Hi Sheila, I'm so glad you like the painting of Jessica in the wheat field! Just in case the replaced painting didn't show up correctly in the original spot, here it is. Although my interpretation of the photo wasn't an exact replica of the photo, I was so struck by her beauty and vitality, the fact that her coloring and the wheat's were so similar, and the beautiful pattern of the stalks of wheat in your photo.
DOG DAYS OF SUMMER - 6x8drawing paper using graphite pencils & charcoal pencils.
My dog, Cosmo, sleeping on a hot afternoon in my Air Conditioned bedroom. He is a 130 lb. extremely "sheddy" hairball that we rescued from the ASPCA about two years ago. He settled in well and we love him so!
Everyone here is doing an awesome job producing art this month. I have much catching up to do and I will come back and comment after a much-needed sleep.
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Alex - Thanks for the repost. I really like the variation of color you used in the wheat field. You also captured her expression of shear joy sitting in the near ripe field with the warm sun on her face. I'm sure she'll love it.
Nealey - Cosmo looks so comfortable!!! I especially like the softness you achieved on his fur. Very nice contrast with the dark background.
I'm posting week 2, pgs 10 - 14, and should be up sometime within the hour.
Nealey, another wonderfully executed drawing ... Lovely.
Jen I like your ink drawing of the playing in the water. Dark darks and bright highlights. Well done girl.
C and C always welcomed
The shelties are very well done . They are great dogs. My kids grew up with a 1/2 sheltie mix. She would go with me on my daily 3 mi walk and be so excited she would come up and try and grab my hand to hurry me along until we got to the road. I miss her she was a great dog.
Christina you three paintings are very nice. I like the middle one the best I bet it says something about you. Am I right?
Alex your painting of Jessica is really good. It shows a young girl out just enjoying life.
