Sheila my grandsons other grandpa has a couple IH tractors that he restored and sometimes drives them in parades. They think there is only one color tractor and it isn't green
C and C always welcomed
Mike I like your Plein air painting. That is something I need to do but it kind of intimidates me. There is a plein air outing next week that I might go to as an observer.
Bonnie your sailboats show a lot of action. Nice whitecaps on the waves. I wouldn't worry about the exact color. If you have ever noticed the artist doing demos very seldom get the color exactly right
Geri, so nice to have you back. NOT the same without you!
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Jen the carousal is very colorful. I agree that the skin on the girJis very nicely done. The horse is well done but a little too busy for my taste but to each their own.
Fred I agree with Jen on your global warming painting. Pretty but I hope it never happens.
Hello Alex your cacti has a lot of nice color to it with the purples and the pinks. I don't think that this is one of your better paintings. You are very talented but this looks unfinished compared to your other work. ( I think it is the lack of detail). Sorry if I stepped on any toes.
Claudia the hay fields in Bavaria don't look any different than the y do in Indiana. Well done.
Nice sunset Fred. Not many people around. That would be nice.
Hi Geri, your opinion is always welcome and I agree with you that other pieces have been more successful.
Claudia your son playing in the water is great. It captures how much fun he is having and a lot of action too.
Oh Boy more catch up again!
Shameer, great sketch of the boy drinking. I really like the composition and joyful subject.
Sarah, Very breezy yacht, and a great feeing of movement. Love those sails!
Bonnie, very nice initial sketch of the pigs. They are rather strange shaped creatures but interesting to draw, hope to see the resulting painting!
Dennis, welcome to the group. I am glad you joined us and this painting is a great introduction! You have some very vibrant and joyful brushwork. Nice work!
Gerri, glad you are back with us! Thanks for the nice words.
Jen C & C's always welcome
Okay I have been doing a few things and had a go at the three little pigs and also an oil of the no longer Curly One puddle jumping on my last visit this Summer, so a dog days painting. I still have detail work to do on his face and smile but with such a small face detail is difficult and likeness almost impossible. I just wanted to capture his joy and the rain came down. He was on his driveway. Hopefully it looks wet.
The pigs are done with pencil in my sketchbook
10x12 oil Puddle Jumping
Denis, Very nice painting of Jessica in the wheat field. You sure captured her happiness.
Jen, You captured the childs fun for puddle jumping and the wetness of the puddles. Maybe a little more rain on the left. It fades with light colors and gives the impression of raining only on the boy. It may just be the way it came through on the photo. Nice shadows on the sketch of the pigs.
C&Cs always welcome
Hello Geri, good to see you back and thanks for the comments on my work...the sow was very hairy...used a fine rigger for that. Pink pigs...means sausages to me!
Denis..the portrait depicts a lively happy character (do have another look at the nape of her neck)
Jen.....another lively character..falling rain is very difficult to paint. The boy's torso well painted and the puddly part. The pigs...they look a little bit stiff to my eye...were you thinking zentangles???
