Lore me encanta la idea de las flores en el vaso
Hi Alexandra,
Thank you again for the wonderful comments and like always, you are so kind!!!
I am glad you like my painting!
Have a great week!!!
You did a great job Turps, beautiful!!!
WOW!!! I turn my back it seems for just a minute and all H--l breaks loose,,,, You guys are all amazing.....
where do I start. well for starters, I took your advice regarding my Grandaughters piece. I tweeked quite a bit on it. as I didn't have much time due to the gig I had yesterday I will talk about that in the chatter.
Thank you for the advice, I found that this cheaper paper is very difficult to work with. it does have a texture that is difficult but oh well. maybe I will do one on nice paper and see what happens...
JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW It was Aubreys 9th birthday yesterday. I sent her the postings of her that you have done. I haven't heard whether or not she enjoyed them... I was soooo busy yesterday I couldn't do it on the day of her B-Day....
MARSHA
C & C Always Welcome
It takes courage to learn about oneself from one’s failures as well as from one’s successes.
Alex, wonderful small portrait of Aubrey. I love the colours and can not imagine working on something this small and having it turn out so beautifull. And as you mentioned makes one wonder about the small portraits they painted for lockets etc.
Jen, your flycatcher is looking great, Your colours are vibrant and I agree he has a certain personality. Will be waiting to see the final painting.
Lore, l really like your daffodil painting set up. It looks gorgeous and very difficult. I love the shine of the glass and think it will be a lovely painting.
jfgarcia, I noticed your painting in the members gallery and thought it was from the challenge photo's, It is lovely with the rippling petals. Very nice.
Cristina, your River Walk is a good interpretation of the topic. I like the way the building roofs carry the shape of the umberellas up through the painting and that the windows carry the blue from the water as well. You have captured lovely light in this painting.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Marsh, the updates to Aubrey's portrait really add to the painting. I like the extra colour in her complexion and the work on the basket is good as well. It makes both these features stand out a little more.
Thank You B.J. for your comments
Now for the catch up...
First and foremost I would like to welcome JF Garcia, you and I have been conversing and I am happy you accepted Alex and myself inviting you to join us. I have always loved your pastels. and the one of the Dafodil will become one of my favorites...
Welcome Christine, I love your Greek interpretation of the RiverWalk very nicely done.
Lore, Its nice to see you back. I love the narcissus in the Glass, I did consider putting something glass into the challenge but because I inserted so many pics I drew straws and the glass lost, but your addition is perfect.
Jen. You little Narcissus flycatcher is going to be adorable, He does indeed have a personality working there. looking forward to the final.... the feathering is great
NOW ALEX..... I have already told you how much I love your Aubrey mini extra mini... I can't find words to express it. So Special.... Next month I am supposed to have bilateral surgery done on my eyes and I hope it gives me vision to try something that small. and I'm told I will see colors better.... fingers crossed. I like the size you uploaded it to it gave me an opportunity to see the detail that goes into your mini. I will post the only mini I ever did in chatter.
Marsha, the additional warmth in the color of Aubrey's face makes a big difference. She must be one of the only nine-year-olds anyone knows who has been "immortalized" by so many artists! I think Geri mentioned how nice it is for grandchildren to have the treasure of portraits to look back on when they are grown up, and that is true here, too.
Bonnie, thank you so much for your comments on my Aubrey miniature!
Alex
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you so much Mr.Schaffer for your help, I appreciate it!!!
Jen C & C's always welcome
Alex and Jen, Thank you for asking, The Gig went exceptionally well, They want us back but we will see. over 130 people there all dressed with their touches of green and waltzing and cha cha and rumba and foxtrotting the night away... I left there and was invited to sing at a jazz club called the Dispensary Lounge so we did that. and don't forget we did the Big Band in the early afternoon. when we got home I was exhausted... then to add to the evening, My husband had left the water onn the whole time we were gone (15 hours) . The back yard was completely flooded, over 3 inches of water in the yard and the cat was stranded on the other side and couldn't get into the house. He had to get his knee high boots and wade to the other side of the yard to rescue her... poor thing.... so we had a water rescue at 3:30am.... I slept all day today.... I'm pooooooped... pretty old to be doing this.... I should have told this story on Chatter. but oh well.... too tired to change it. But guess what??? Our Frog came out today and I heard him croaking, problably got woken up due to the flooding.....
As I said Our Frog was rudely awakend today due to the flood in the back yard and because I heard him croaking tonight I have decided to name him "PADDY" for St Patricks day,,, he's lived in the yard for many years but I have never named him... " I like that.... "PADDY THE FROG"
Welcome to this post Jose` all of your pastels are great as is this dafodil good to have you post here
Jim C&C welcomed
