Watercolor attempt #1 Head tilt..not too bad. She is too tall, I didn't get the face in this one. I'm not doing anymore to this one as I'm learning when a watercolor is beyond fixable. :) I shall keep trying. I think if we only post the 'finished' product here then we can't learn from each other's mistakes. So I'll be brave

Catherine, in the photo she is leaning forward slightly and looking to the side. Her weight is on that turned foot. This makes her shoulders high and her head low. It is deceptively difficult. Her whole body is slightly off kilter to what is normal but kids can get into some strangely relaxed poses as she is. She is poised and searching ready to go. The long skirt hides a lot so you can't follow what her body is doing. It would help if we could zoom closer but it just pixilates. This is what is throwing us all off.

I know. I tried to zoom it in to at least get a better look at her facial features and it was a no go.  At least with this first attempt I got a little idea of the colors. I'm off today because of the snow in Ohio and had a little free time. I might just flat out wing it with the next one and not draw anything first. This is a tough one. lol..actually after looking at the #1 attempt I painted I think it looks more like a drag queen dressed up like Goldie Locks.

Marsha you sure know how to put forth a challenge! It's driving us crazy here.

Catherine, I would be challenged by even the basket, so you've done pretty well.

Kim I've seen your art on the Paintdoodles site. You're a very very good artist. Your advice has helped me try new things and think through ideas before I commit to them.

Jen, your Aubrey is very nice. I like her dress in the CP instead of the stronger coloured pens. The CP gives it a light an airy feeling. Her basket is superb. Job well done.

Catherine, Audrey attempt #1 is coming along very nicely. The colour of her dress is lovely and the basket and eggs are great. You have brought her head down closer to her body that is good. I think the tilt of her head is good and the only thing I noticed is that her stance is off a little. Not much and I don't think it would be noticable if not being examined under the microscope. I should mention that I am enjoying following your process and watching your painting develop. I really like this one.

Hi Everybody, I know that this is not the right thread for this message but, I,m using my husband,s iPad from my hospital room and I couldn't figure out how to open the chatter thread.  I came into the emergency room with a racing heart beat and it took all day to get it under control.   I expect to spend tonight and tomorrow night here,  Will miss you guys.

Sammy, take care. I was wondering where you were. That must have been scary for you. Hope they get you under control soon and you can come back home. We miss you too. Big hugs! The way I get from one to the other is go to the top of the page and between the blue forums and our blue challenge is the words all media challenge in black and white small letters. Click on that then click on the all media page that shows up again and it will show all our chatter and challenge pages. Then just click on the Chatter. I have to go to edit, then options then click on plain text to use my iPad.

Sammy,  I wish you well, and soon.

I know its scary at the hospital,  my last episode was similar and they kept me two days...     I hope you get out of there very soon.

It's good that your husband is with you.    You will be in our thoughts,  please get well soon.

Oh Sam, so sorry to hear that you are having health problems. Although it's not that comfortable the hospital is the best place to be when having problems like that. It sounds like your husband is looking after you and you will soon learn the ins and outs of the Ipad. We'll all be thinking of you and hope you are back home soon.

Sad Sorry to read about your rapid heart rate episode. You did the right thing going to the hospital as soon as you did. Get it under control as soon as possible. I know all will be well and you will be back with your brushes and pens in hand giving us encouragement and words of wisdom Yes

Sammy, I'm glad you didn't hesitate to go to the hospital and that you let us know so we could have you on our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know tomorrow how you are doing.
