colours work well together......after you powder her nose have another look at the eye, is there too much white showing? Did the lady have grey hair or is that your interpretation? NOT criticising just curious.

Hi Sarah, thank you for your comments on the gold-and-gray painting. The subject's eye in the photo actually showed more white than I showed in my interpretation. Her hair was blonde with black roots. My goal, though, was to paint something using Fred's beautiful palette, so I gave her gray hair using my own white-gray hair as a model of sorts.
Comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
Hello Jen ~ Your little one is the spittin' image of you. I see the resemblance! As I say over & over,"Portraits are hard to do." Especially those who you are close to. Well done & great smile!
Sarah ~ Thank you for sharing a few of your quick sketches. I always like to peek at others' sketchbooks. And I understand about just using initials as a signature. I always did it too when I was younger.
Comments and critiques are welcome.
Fred ~ I really enjoy the feeling of depth in your Venus painting. Maybe it's the gel medium. It's a great texture!
Alex ~ Tunisian woman - great colors and an unusual pose, which makes it interesting to me.
Geri ~ I know how it is having an ambiguous name! All my junk mail is to Mr. Nealey! The US Army tried to recruit me for a good two years after my HS graduation, HEH HEH.
Nealey, thank you for all of your very kind comments on my work. I appreciate them.
Hi all, Nice portrait Alex you used that simple palette to great advantage, Now since I watch FOX, CNN, and MSNBC I find irregardless of political beliefs an abundance of subjects for an artist to pursue and so I try to find a humorous way to get the issues across. 11x14 watercolor

Nice painting and brings up a lot of stuff. It doesn't bring up what Egypt is dragging us into. Oh I forgot they are a solverant country (does that mean we have treaties with them that we can not break no matter how many people they kill no matter what there belief's are. Just a thought
C and C always welcomed
NealeyPea:Geri ~ I know how it is having an ambiguous name!
I was thinking of changing mine to Pat.
Geri - Funny guy! If you change your name to Pat, I'll change mine to Teri!
Fred ~ This IS a great painting! Especially "Reduce the deficit. Don't get sick, poor or old." Exactly!
Fred, I love this one ... Very apt.
Fred, You tell em!! Maybe you should start sending them to the president!
Jen C & C's always welcome
Alex, Love the colours and a this is a really nice portrait. One of your best!
Hey Geri, I can only cram so much in a single painting more to come

Good deal Fred.
While I am on here has anybody head anything from Marsha. I started a conversation with her but she never responded. I am kind of worried about her it isn't like her to be silent this long.
