Hi Sam Glad your home and feeling better, I didn't realize that the electrical was so important until a couple of yrs. ago. My potassium was real low due to sweating while building a deck on my home and I had to spend a week in the hospital to get stabilized again, anyhow I broke out my Genesis oil paints to do an imaginary Landscape and here is my progress so far
Fred
Thinking what can I do with this
Getting some ideas now and I have to bake before I continue
This is where I'm now and I have to bake again to continue, I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel, making pictures is fun, fun, fun do you agree

Ready to bake for the 4th and hopefully the last time, this is on 16x20 canvas
Jen C & C's always welcome
Thisafternoon I was back on the mini paintings. The art place where I actually paint is having a fund raiser. I guess I better think oils for a while! I managed these two today the boat still needs work but I think the frog is finished. I quite enjoy doing these minis.
these two are 6 x6 oils.
they are still wet so there is a bit of a shine, but you get the idea!
Fred I love the colors and the waterfall looks great! What do you mean by "bake"?
Jen..I love the little oils you do! They both are very sweet minis. One of these days I'd like to get some oils and give it a whirl myself.

Fred, I have a friend that experimented with Genesis Heat Set Oils and she put them in the oven at low temps to set them. I'm imagining that is what you are doing. How do you like the heat set oils? Your waterfall looks nice and so do your rocks. This is a very colorful fall scene. Or could it be a colorful spring floral?
Sam/Sammy C & C Welcome

Jen, what a cute frog. The red and green complements work well together. I love those popping eyes. The boat scene is really nice. I like how you did the reflection of the sails in the water and the flowers on shore are very pretty. Lovely paintings.
Been so bitterly cold, wet and now snowing again so decided to paint this view to cheer up myself.
Irish view this time....Distant Mountains of Mourne seen from across the lough (loch/lake) The seagull is a Common Gull which isn't common!. Acrylic on gesso wooden panel approx. 10" x 8".

Hello Jen,
I paint miniatures and ACEO's (smaller than yours) but not with oils. Bright and cheerful..frog and yacht.
Hello Fred ...used to heat 'ends' of wax crayons in a tin lid and paint with them when they had liquified...had to work quickly!!!!. Was called a type of encaustic painting.
FRED, interesting with the oils. while I reading it I thought you were baking cookies and cakes, then I looked up the Genesis oils and read Sam's note and realized you were baking oils...(your painting) my goodness that seems interesting. I'm not sure of what I am looking at, are those flowers or fall trees? I took a look again at your last Bear piece and wanted to comment about the topiary tree and upon closer examination, yup.... looks like a fish... Bringing home the chow...der.....

C & C Always Welcome
It takes courage to learn about oneself from one’s failures as well as from one’s successes.
Sarah, lovely Irish painting. The colors of the water are gorgeous and you did a great job on the rocks.
Jen you little oils are beautiful.. I had a photo of a tiny frog that I was going to post but he didn't have the red eyes and legs. this is sooooo cute... great job with your oils.... Shine on!
Sam so glad you are home.... take care.
Fred, I have potassium problems as well, I can totally relate to those tribulations.
Yesterday I overworked my self at the club, and last night I felt the repercussions all night long.... today I had to take a diuretic as I have swollen up all over.
