Sam your picture reminds me of my cousin.  They had 5 girls and a very large sailboat by the name of NO BOY.

Catherine I think you will do well painting this.  It the kind of painting that you do well.  I think the spots would be a challenge to get them soft edge without bleeding too much.  We will be waiting.

My grandson posted this on Facebook today.

HOW TO INSTALL A SOUTHERN SECURITY SYSTEM

1.  Go to Goodwill and buy a size 14-16 men's work boots.

2. Place them on the front porch along with a copy of Guns & Ammo magazine.

3. Put four giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazine.

4. Leave a note on your door that reads

Bubba, me and Marcel, Donnie Ray and Jimmy Earl went for more beer and ammo.  Be back in an hour.  Don't mess with the pit bulls.  They got the mailman this morning and messed him up bad.    I don't think that Killer took part but it was hard to tell with all the blood.  Anyway, I locked all four of 'em in the house.  You better wait outside.  I'll be right back.  Cooler

:) Jim you should paint that. Orchids would be the perfect flower for your fairy princess! The flower is about the size of a 50 cent piece so you have a reference size.

Geri you think the spots are a challenge?? I think the whole thing might turn into a challenge for me. lol The spots might drive me to drink.

Sam what beautiful girls! And you have so many sisters too! I have no sisters but do have one younger brother and no grandchildren unless you want to count my oldest daughter's 7 Alpacas, 2 miniture donkeys and 49 baby chickens. lol My youngest daughter has 1 cat that I gave her after we found out my little dog Stella didn't get along with him at all.

Catherine - What a gorgeous orchid. Really looking fwd. to seeing your ptg. of it!

Sam - Charming photo! Good to see Olivia more "grown up" too.

Gosh, we only have a camera & intercom...really need to upgrade to that super effective security! Smile

One more lotsa girls story: My daughter was named after my hubby's Aunt Alice, who was the 6th girl in a row of just girls. When she popped out, her father declared in Dutch, (forgive spelling!), "Ach, Dat is allice!" It had a dbl. meaning of "that's all!" and the name Alice. My husb. knew her as Aunty All. Turned out that was NOT all...he had 8 girls and 3 boys total! Our Alice is strictly our  ALL (our only child).

Catherine: Sounds like a lot of great animals to paint portraits of!!

CATH:   We've been buying new tea blends,,  thanks for the warning on that one,,,,  I fed my Eppy plants a beer mix... they bloomed like crazy..  I see you used your still life box to take the picture.   very nice.

Speaking of Girls.. I had 5 daughters,  when the last one was born with thought for sure it would be a boy... NOT... we named her Nicole Jean, but nicknamed her CJ, at the time we wanted a new Jeep so I told my husband he just got his CJ-5...  which was the name of the jeep he wanted.   and to add to the hareum my first grandchild was a girl as well, afterwords, all of my daughters had boys....  I have much sympathy for anyone raising girls... we raised ours around horses, chickens, pigs, goats, steers, lambs, etc etc,,,,  FFA and 4H was a great part of our lives as well as theatre and music.   ANYTHING to keep them busy....

SAM your girls are beautiful...   what a great picture...  I like the security idea.   might be looking into that

SHEILA, Skip Martin belongs to the DAZZ band as well as Kool,  that is another great group. glad you found good memories with that comment...  Sometimes I have him at the Club and he does some Miles Davis stuff.  I will post a pic one day...

Sammy love the security idea it sure would make me avoid my neighbors! Love all the beautiful little girl of yours. As an only child with older parents I envy you all those siblings. My most loved times were Christmas and Summer holidays with all my cousins. My Mum did not encourage other kids in the house so I was pretty solitary.I did a lot of reading and drawing. When my girls squabbled I couldn't understand it until my oldest said" Mum it is what sisters do" I thought it very odd!! A friend of mine had nothing but boys, and grandsons. There hadn't been a girl for 103 years until finally a girl child emerged. Three more came in succession!

My nieces fought like cats and dogs.  When they were about 7 or 8 the oldest one threw a flower pot at the younger one and the younger one stabbed her in the forehead wit a fork.  Now they are so close you couldn't pry them away with a stick.
