Bonnie, when taking the photo of a painting further away, I crop it at the computer.  That method seems to work much better.  Thanks for your kind comments.

Sarah this is a very pretty little watercolor! I really like the fence area and the loose wash you have used.

Hello B/Geri,

my apologies but I may have uploaded the Challenge painting in the wrong thread. I painted the Blue Jay.

Kim has done her best to explain the system to me but I am obviously still confused...my fault I am sure.

Can you move it to the right thread for me please?

Sarah, what I beautiful painting of the Blue Jay.  I agree that your loose style is lovely.  The sky, grasses and fence look great.  And, of course, the star of the show is very well done and handsome.

You put this painting in the correct thread.  If you use one of the reference photos, the resulting painting goes into the Challenge thread.  All other work can be posted in the Chatter thread.  In the future, all Challenge threads will be titled with the word Challenge first so that we can identify it more easily.

That's a relief  S...thought I was losing what little common sense I had left!

Thanks for your comments too;    'our' Jays are not quite the same as 'yours'.

Sarah - Beautiful jay -  I like the contrast of detail in the bird with the looseness of the fence.  Well done!

Sarah - You did a very good job on the "Bluejay" . The washes throughout the painting are beautifully done and the way you worked in the fence and grasses WOW. Wink

Sarah what a fantastic WC.  You have given him life by his posture you would think he would jump up and fly any moment.  I have been working on this bird off and on  for a week and its driving me crazy.  Yours makes me want to take it out back and shoot it and put both of us out of our misery.  Yous is just beautiful.

. I tried to catch some fog. I mist.

Sarah - You've painted your jay magnificiently! You can rightly put this up with the best of your work. I have been looking at it for some time on my screen...quite an enjoyable break to just keep looking at it.  Thanks for sharing.

Sam - Speaking of the forum threads, I noticed there are a couple extra with the All Media Photo Challenge title. They only have 1 or 2 replies but some may still go these in confusion vs.  the actual thread that inc. the date and number. Can these extra ones just be deleted?

Kim, most of the threads you mention were started by people who are new to the forum or some of them are advertisements.  Recently, some people who are hosting put the incorrect title on the thread.  I know that this is all confusing.  We cannot delete them.  Courtney Jordan would have to do it.  We've asked her from time to time but we just get more.

For everybody who is hosting this year, the title of each Challenge thread should be "Challenge #?? - Month, Year."   For instance, the Challenge thread for February will be "Challenge #28 - February, 2013."  I will try to send out a reminder to the hosts each month.
