Kim, ditto on the greenery.  It looks good to me, also.  I love your impressionistic style on the chicks paintings.  Great colors on the chicks .  The shadow under them grounds them well.  Super little painting.  I'm with Jen on the Blue Jay.  The first thing I thought was how does she get such details on so small a painting.  It looks good and the jay stands out well against the red/brown and snow.  Real nice paintings.  Thanks for sharing.

What a lot of great work,

Suzanne, nice painting with a real burrr winter feeling. Your shrubs around the log cabin add a nice softmess to the painting.  Hope to see more of your work.

Jen, Smiley One looks like a real charmer with those bright eyes and nice big smile. What a darling. I can't really see the colours you used in the fur on the hat but it does make it look soft an furry.

NZ Jen, your great grand daughter is lovely and so is your pastel. Her sweater looks so soft. I like how she has stopped playing to turn and look at you. The colours are also great. Hope to see your Blue Jay soon.

Kim, I agree with Jen and don't know how you do this detail on something so small.  I also agree that the chicks are difficult (I am giving them a try with some difficulty) and you did such a good job and gave them a nice setting and your trees seem to be fine.

Bonnie   C & C most welcome / appreciated

Great Jen, if you can fit in a morning to do some painting at a nice beach when you come over, Im all on!

Kim I loved your chicks. I thought your placement of the shadow really made it.

Suzanna..I really like the colors you've used in your cabin painting! Very nice!

Jen and NZJen. You have both done very sweet paintings of the babies! So much happiness there!

Kim..The Bluejay and Chicks paintings are great! I like the red background for the bluejay and the green background and wonderful area around their feet. The chicks look great!

Welcome hearadh...You're painting of NWest Scotland is just wonderful! I really like the grasses in front and also that big cat you've added. Very nice.

hearadh,  welcome to our little group.  Your painting of the Scottish mountains is very attractive.  I like the dramatic sky in purple and the hints of purple throughout the painting.  Great mountains.  The wildcat is a good addition.  Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Please give us your first name.  This is the Challenge thread.  Reference photos were posted on the first page and people who do artwork using one of the reference photos post their work here.  We also have the Chatter thread and artists can post any paintings here.

Sheila, Wow!  You did a bang up job on Mayme's portrait in graphite.   You most certainly captured her likeness and all the subtle little things about her.  Her eyes are wonderful and look alive.  Well done.

Hello all, I apologize for being out of touch. I dropped my laptop (don't ask!) and am out of commission for a few days, but will be catching up on comments via phone over the next day. At least when my computer is repaired, I should have art to post! So much wonderful work posted in the last few days!

Alex
