Yes the curling is on ice. We have a curling club the same as a country club for golf. Our building has kitche,n bar, lockers, change rooms and club area that is connected to the ice with three sheets to play on. I've just returned from our Thursday night ladys draw. You are guaranteed 3 games in the bonspiel and depending on what games you win and that you win the 3rd game you go into semi finals and then finals. Lots of fun to put in the winter. Our temperature dropped this morning to about 0 F so if you didn't have some of these things to do you would never go out.
Bonnie C & C most welcome / appreciated
Geri that is interesting, I have never seen one like that. I wonder what they feel like to use.
Acutely they don't feel much different than what we think is normal. They have allot of drop in the wrist but the comb is high so you cheek rest on it like the so called normal gun. They look awkward so the club butt name stuck with them.
C and C always welcomed
Hi again,
Sam, it is a photograph of a 3d object that i have. it is a cylinder about 20cm high, with a radius of about 7 cm, u fill it with water, apply batteries and switch it on, there are small red plastic balls that are sucked from the bottom and erupted from top, just like lava.
i switched it on and stablilized the camera then took this shot.
wetpaperfan, thanks alot for welcoming back, sorry to be away so long, u know too busy with work. i'll try posting more before the end of January.
hope everyone is in great health.
Sanaa.
Sanaa, this is the All Media Photo Challenge and, of course, photography is included. Your photograph is unique and striking. Thanks for posting. I noticed the colored pencils on your avatar. Do you work with colored pencil, too? Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Sanaa, oh, yes, I remember your fashions drawings. These are both very interesting photos expecially the hot chocolate with hearts and feathers. I like the hot, hot snowman as well. I see that you like to photograph light and color.

We have another thread called the Challenge Chatter thread and we can post any artwork other than the reference photos on that thread. We also can chat about anything on that thread. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello everyone, I am sorry I have not been around in a long time. I have had some very hard and emotional times and have not done any art work and had artist block since about June 2011.
I must say I am so glad I came back and looked at all the great works going on here. You have all inspired me to do some painting. Everyone has done great works of art. I love them all!
Here is my rendition of the cabin.
Acylic on Canvas 12" x 16"
Suzanna
Oh Suzanna, it is so good to hear from you. I am sorry to hear that you've been going through some tough times. It's good that you've returned to working on art. Your rendition of the cabin is brrrrr cold and wintry. I like the blue sky with the smoke from the chimney and the icicles. The light in the windows gives a little bit of warmth to an otherwise cool painting. I particularly like the touches of green peeking out from under the snow covered shrubs.
Geri, I wonder if you flipped the reference photo of the cabin. The perspective is off. I tried to adjust it in my photo program but couldn't. Any ideas?
Suzanna - I love your rendition of the cabin. Lots of snow, I like the way you placed it on the trees, nicely done.

Critique and criticism appreciated.
I have been super busy these last couple weeks and didn't get a chance to log into the forum. Glad to have this morning to catch up. Great job everyone on the challenge this month!!! Sorry for not commenting individually. As always, I learned so much from the comments and critiques. . I hope the month of Feb. is a bit less hectic.
Sam the photo is as taken except it has been cropped. This is an old original cabin that has set there for who knows how long. It may have settled or was built crooked to begin with. I don't know haw to explain the perspective problem.
Glad you joined us this month Suzanne your cabin is very nice. I know what its like to have emotional problems. My wife suffers from depression especially when the sun doesn't shine. Through meds she has gotten a lot better but some days I can see it bothering her but she doesn't complain. Good luck and maybe the painting will help.
Suzanna you have sure painted a cozy looking cabin love the way you left some green around the trees and shrubs lots of icicles hanging, we haven't had enough snow for them here yet hope soon we need the moisture ,anyway it's good to have you back
Jean your flintlock sketch is great I like your use of coffee a nice monochromatic painting
Sanaa your photos are interesting your pencil sketchs are quite good glad to have you posting again
Jim C&C welcomed
