"Nude With Outstreached Arms", 18" x 24" colored pencil on newsprent paper, 12-03-2012
These last two nudes you have posted show your interest in the human form, but you really need to study up on some anatomy. Lot's of books and online resources for artists available out there. I suggest you pick one book or website or whatever, and copy line for line everything you see. Be as accurate as you can in your copying. If you are using a book, employing tracing paper is a great option. The whole point is not to create your own unique pieces of art, but to really see how the lines and shapes come together. Anatomy books are great because they break the body down into smaller parts; arms, head, torso, etc. The body as a whole with all this skin covering all those shapes, it can be overwhelming and defeating. Learning and drawing what shapes are underneath will help you immensely. The human form is my favorite thing to draw as well and I know know that it is the hardest. Get really good at drawing simpler shapes and even other objects, like vases or jars or cereal boxes, and I promise the next time you draw a person, you will surprise yourself.
Beans, beans, good for your art...
Thank you, Lampatientzero22, I now I have a long way to go yet with life drawing. I think part of the problem as been that there as been to much light from all directions on the model to show the forms. Also I do not have the shadowing down yet.
