pastel painting trip

I am going on an international painting trip in May, my first. I am new to pastel and this will be plein air pastel painting....

any advice, tips or suggestions would be MOST WELCOME!!!

Well, I am back from my trip. I have fallen in love with pastels. I am enthralled with the experience of pure color and value. I wish this forum was more active.

I'm beginner in pastel,soft pastel i mean although I've used to drawing so many years ago, 20 or more and with colors, not so much experiences worth to say. but in a sudden i decided to try pastels two weeks ago and now i am also a pastel lover.....one question .....is there any area to put the painting to get other artist's advices to improve it ?
