Affixing Graphite

I'm new to the world of graphite drawing and have found that I love it.  I need to find out, however, if there is a way to fix graphite to the paper to prevent it from smearing.  Any advice will be extremely appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi.  Buy a can of fixative.  Now it will darken the drawing some so try it on a test work before you it on your piece.  I know it comes in a gloss and matte finish.  It may come in fat also.  I am still looking for one that will  to darken the work.  Do the spray OUTSIDE not inside.
