New to painting... this is 16x20 acrylic painting I just finished today.

This is my second canvas painting ever and my 4th painting in all. This being the largest of all of them.... Please let me know what you think.... It is a Native American Warrior Spirit.....

Now just to figure out how to get pics in here. Says when I go to options file too large basically... any suggestions much appreciated....

You're off to a good start. I wish you well.

As far as the size of the digital image....I am "terrible" at that, BUT, I have been told that you can reduce the size of exposure before taking the pictures so that they have a smaller something-or-other when you put them on-line. Your digital should have options.....try a smaller one. It won't affect the image size.....just the ability to get them on line.

I'm sorry if I have confused you....I'm confused with it all. LOL

For me, I right clicked on my picture file, went to properties, and reduced the size of the dimensions (ex. 800x600) until it was small enough to fit the requirements.  Whether or not that works for you will depend on what program you're using to view your files.  Hope that helps.
