A British Museum announced that the works which were stolen from Parthenon in Athens will not be returned, but they will consider favorab

ly to lend it. The works were stolen 200 years ago by a British diplomat.
The museum director in Greece proposed in a meeting with UNESCO that Britain will return the pieces to Greece. Greece is in a campaign to return the stolen works. The works were stolen in 1806 by Lord Elgin when Greece was under the Ottoman occupation. Lord Elgin had sold the works to the British Museum.
