Hi everyone I'm new to this forum so I would post a picture of my work and see what you all think.
Oil on Canvas 16 x 20
Thanks in advance, Mike

I was cruising the site and was attracted to the title of the painting and saw nobody responded.
I checked out your site as well. There's an innocence to the painting that is charming. I think the redish trees can bit too powerful considering the rest of the colors and values. You would benefit by studying other artist you like and working at duplicating more of the subtle color choices that you see which might make you work on color mixing a bit. I think that would be a good step into your work. There's lots of great books in libraries on painting technique all for free.
It's a painting that you brought in things that are important to you and that's important regardless of any conventional art teachings - such as the flowers in the foreground. Some of your street scenes are quite charming as well and have lots of life in them.
You have to make decisions on your values and if creating more mood and distance are important to you and then you would use more receding colors in the background. A lot of this growth comes from educating yourself through various ways and a bit of soul searching as to what you like or see in other paintings that you like.
Nice work and keep growing.
Thank you for your kind review, I will take note.
