Hi everyone today i'm sharing a still life I recently finished, it's not my regular alla prima's that I post on here.  This painting took much longer to complete than just one session, I look to my alla primas more of a way of practicing and experimenting to enhance my knowledge of painting.  My true love of painting lies within these type of paintings and figurative ones as well.  The size of this painting is 14 x 18 inches on linen.  Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear your comments.

Masterful. I love your choice of fabric and using that fabric edging. And I love the little orange reflection in the kettle. Painting fabric and holding the texture as you have done shows a lot of skill and study. Also: I like that you didn't go for that typical bright highlight painters often overuse when there's a coper kettle. You held that older kettle sheen beautifully.

You recently complimented me on my ":three tomatoes" thanks. I just happened apon this painting and love how you make things seem to glow.  I also , like to paint alla prima as you do, it keeps you loose and I learn alot and get to be adventurous with paints.

Wow, my jaw dropped. :) I do not paint at this point; although, I would love to learn, but I could only hope to be able to do this one day. I love the contrast of the darks and lights, and the details of the orange reflection in the kettle and the design of the material.
