I posted a pic today (4/17/11) of something I picked up at the thrift store and thought it had something to do with yarn or measuring yarn onto a hank, but it was suggested by another that it might be to hold a framed piece or canvas. Please check out the photo in the gallery and if you have ever used one or have seen them, let me know.
Thanks!
Well fellow artists, I believe the mystery is solved. Although I do not have confirmation – I believe this “tool” to be a hanging easel/picture holder. Thanks to Zoe from the knitting daily site for the “ah ha” moment. Her craftsman grandfather would be proud.
Thanks to everyone else for the many ideas…(ribbon maker, dipped candle holder/dryer, hank winder/ knitty noddy and warping board). Since I have two, I will be able to double my options. For now, one will be a portable idea board...with so many ideas and projects, I can always use another - especially one that is portable; the other will be perfect as an easel for my little ones. I can put it down low enough on the wall and it won’t take up much floor/table space. When they are done with their creation, I can move it up higher for drying (very important when dealing with toddlers)
Thanks again and happy creating!
