WARNING DO NOT GO TO THE SITE "ART IN THE OPEN" IT HAS BEEN HACKED. Plein Air Paddy, this is your first post are you here to spam or are you legitimately an artist wishing to communicate and share?

I'm hoping that this was an accident and you are unaware of what this address actually is. Thankfully, I have a mac... fingers crossed that the hacker does not have any further bad intentions. Confused

Hey Paddy,

If you know anyone at the Art in the Open organization, you might want to pass along this info about their site, though I'm assuming they are well aware. Maybe you got it mistyped? If so, let us know. I love the Plein Eire site--nice resource. I was just asking another member about great things going on in the art scene in Ireland and here you come.

Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see what all these vacations produce, artistically-speaking. Enjoy!

Courtney

Paddy, I found info on the Wexford art in the open going through discoverireland.com and clicking on things to do. Anyone interested in this event should use this site instead.

Just seen it. Sorry.

I have notified the site owner.

Hopefully the proper site will be back up in a couple of days.

It is worth visiting - but not right now! Grrrr!

It sounds like a beautiful event. I checked it out going through the tourist site. Now I can set my sights higher. I'm also glad your not a troll or spammer, it's good to talk to people from different countries! You got off to a strange start but anyway - Welcome!

Yes, it's a rather embarrassing start for me on here.

I see the site is down for repairs today.

A few American artists are coming over for the event, including Don Maier, who runs PleinAirArtists. They are currently running a competition to win a week's stay in an hotel for two at the moment to coincide with the Irish festival. launched on St.Patrick's Day, naturally.

For individuals willing to travel for a paid plein air workshop, I found this listing under artshow

www.artshow.com/workshops/WorkshopDisplay.aspx?MedTheme=Landscape&Location=All

I enjoyed looking through it just to see the instructors and locations.

That's a very handy, comprehensive listing, Kat. Thanks.

btw. Art in the Open site is back up now without the other nonsense, if you want to take as sticky beak.

The Annual Quadra Island Paint Out in BC, Canada, is part of the International Plein Air Painters Great Worldwide Paint Out-it is free and very loosely organized but fun with a reception on the Sunday afternoon. http://www.firesignartanddesign.com/Plein%20air%20Paint%20Out.htm

Also any time you want to come up to Quadra Island I am happy to paint out with you!

This is great. Thank you for adding to my dream list - and now you have free advertising! I checked out the island and it has studio tours! It seems like it has an artists' community worth checking out and is located close to Vancouver.
