I'm used to an edit function for posts on both forums and blogs - but I can't see one.

It's useful for those of us who sometimes type too fast and don't spot typos before we hit the button

Ditto, on occasion, people think again after they've published and go back and edit what they've put.

Either way it would be a really useful facility to avoid embarassment and whatever....... Wink

So am I missing something?  Is there a really an edit function but it's hiding?

My name is Katherine and I write about art every day on my blog Making A Mark.

Aha!!!!

I found it - it's hiding under the "more" button!

oh yes, the 'edit', my favorite function!

Unfortunately, I don't see anyway to 'edit' our 'blog comments' or 'gallery comments' in the same way we can edit a forum post. If there is and it's hiding, I'd love to know where. :)

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'll check with our dev team to see if that's easy enough to add. I agree that individuals should have the ability to edit/delete their own comments on blogs and galleries.

Update on the ability to edit/delete your own comment.

My tech team tells me that right now it's not something that's built into the system. We're using an off-the-shelf system and it has a couple shortcomings here and there. No timeline, but we've added it to the wish list for feature enhancements.

So it's a bit of give-and-take ... some love a lot of the features of this system and wish other could be improved. We'll work on the improvements as we go along!

thank you Eric for the follow up. I agree, there are other, more important areas to fine tune since this isn't a built-in option, that's easily turned on or off.

As members, we will just need to be mindful to double check the wording and spelling of our blog-comments and gallery-comments before hitting submit. At least we have full control of any edits to our forum posts--which is a very good thing. Val

Is there a way of including some text somewhere to warn people that blog comments and gallery comments can't be undone?  A nod is as good as wink etc... Wink

When I'm commenting on blogs 'in the real world' I'm very careful as I know it can't be undone when on somebody else's site - but I am generally aided by a comment preview.

I've not tried either blogs or galleries as yet - is a preview available for comments?
