Pan Pastels

I am new to Pan Pastels too. New to pastels in general. I've always wanted to try them but it was my inner dialogue: "Do you REALLY need to try ANOTHER medium??" that stopped me.  But then my dear sweet hudband gave me a gift certificate to *** Blick (!!!) for Christmas and so that's when I bought a set of landscape pan pastels and the applicator sponges. Having no pastel reference, I don't know how they compare to stick pastels. But I do love the pan pastels! They are creamy, soft and go on the paper like 'butta'. 

Here is my first attempt at pastels (pan pastels) . I am pleased with the results.
