Dear All,

I am an artist, and do painting is very important to me. It is my source of bread and butter.

In my studio i paint standing. because of standing for long hours during the painting session, my foot has been infected and I am not able to stand or walk. Doctors has advised to stop standing or walking for few days, till the pain reduced.

I tried to use a chair and paint, but it is difficult, I am not able to get the feel as i did during standing. and one more thing while in the chair i am not able to apply paint in the top of the canvas. I use 4 feet X 6 feet canvas for work...

Please give me some ideas, tips, advices, suggestion. If possible can you share photos of you studio. so that i may get some ideas....

Also i was wondering how people who are handicapped (with out legs ) do painting....

Please help me...  Please...

I just saw this and all I can say is that your body is telling you to take a few days off.  If this is a recurrent problem, you'll find a way to adjust.  I hope you are feeling better.

I'm not sure if you are still in need of suggestions. However, I use a windmill easel and a swivel chair that can go to different heights. If you like I can take a picture.

I purchased mine from Dick Blick. The largest will fit up to a 76 x 36 inch canvas. (I think that if you add additional wooden supports on the back of the canvas you may be able to fit a 4x6. --I've not tried that yet so I'm not sure that would work - maybe you could work on a size slightly smaller if you want to use this particular easel.) It was an expensive easel but it allows me to paint. With this easel I can bring any part of the canvas to me; I couldn't paint without it.

You tube also has a video about the easel.

I hope that you get back to painting as much as you like.
