All 3 of these oil studies were done on bristol paper with no priming. I know...an artistic sin. LOL

I just wanted to paint. All were done in my living room with no photo reference. I like imaginative painting that draws upon principle knowledge and then playing with it.

Cheers

I definitely like all three, but the first one is my favorite because of the tree.  You have a great imagination.

Gregory, I really like all of your work.  I especially like your perspective on some of them where you are below the horizon line.  In my imagination someone is just about to crest the ridge and come into the painting.

Hi Sharon, I like the effect of wondering what is over, around or behind something. Thanks for noticing things like that and for taking a look.

Thank you Margo.

Here is another one. I just read Richard Schmids' Alla Prima book. That is a keeper. This is a 12x9 oil on canvas paper.

Gregory, you are really capturing the color as well as the darks and lights. Really nice movement of the eye through the painting.

HI Gregory - I must agree with Margo - It's the colour and movement that captured my attention, nice work.
