David Leffel: Weekend With the Masters Instructor
A. Leffel is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished representational
artists today and is often referred to as a living Old Master. He has received
three gold medals and one silver medal from the National Academy of Western
Arts; gold medals from the Hudson Valley Art Association and Allied Artists of
America; and various distinguished awards from the National Arts Club, the
National Academy, and the American Artists Professional League, among others.
is the subject of Oil Painting Secrets From a Master (Watson-Guptill Publications,
New York, New York) and the author of An Artist Teaches: Reflections on the Art
of Painting as well as the recently published Self-Portraits: A Visual Journey
of Insight (both Bright Light Publishing, Ojai, California). He is represented
by Nedra Matteucci Galleries, in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Total Arts Gallery, in
Taos, New Mexico; Overland Gallery of Fine Art, in Scottsdale, Arizona; and
Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art, in San Antonio.
has participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions including the Artists of
America exhibition at the Colorado History Museum, Denver, CO; the National
Academy of Western Art exhibition at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in
Oklahoma City; the Allied Artists of America exhibitions; Hudson Valley Art

Leffel is also one of the most sought-after oil painting instructors in the country
and continues to teach workshops.
