Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, as part of the National Park Service's Artist-in-Residence Program, and in partnership with Turtle Bay Exploration Park, is seeking professional artists to apply to participate in the 2009 residency program. Artists working in all visual mediums, including photography, sculpture, painting, and video, will be considered, and selected artist will have the opportunity to spend up to four weeks in an artist cabin in Whiskeytown to produce new works. Deadline for entry is February 15, 2009.In exchange for their stay, each artist selected will be asked to conduct at least one program for the public, and to donate a piece of art reflective of their time at Whiskeytown.
Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is located seven miles west of Redding, California, and covers 42,000 acres of land among the hills and valleys of California’s Klamath Mountains.
