A largely self-taught artist, Bernardi’s work fits seamlessly into the tapestry that is the history of art, drawing as comfortably from the romantic and dramatic tones of the Old Masters as he does from the vibrant and enthusiastic Pop artists. The work featured in this exhibition embraces what many would consider the banality of everyday life, yet Bernardi’s attention to detail, his passion for the precise, and his use of bold, vibrant colors transform mundane household chores and ordinary items into objects of desire.
