This exhibition by James Gurney features 23 illustrations from his book Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara, published in September 2007. Gurney’s Dinotopia series focuses on the fictional characters Arthur and Will Denison and their experiences in a lost land, where science and imagination are brought to life and dinosaurs and humans live side by side. An expanded version of this exhibition—consisting of 60 paintings, including work from the first two books in the Dinotopia series—will be on display in January 2009 at the Delaware Art Museum, in Wilmington, Delaware. Gurney’s Dinotopia work will also be on exhibition at the Oshkosh Public Museum, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, November 3 through January 27, 2008.
