The California Art Club recently held its 96th Annual Gold Medal Juried Exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, in Pasadena, California. Work from 170 artists was included in the exhibition, and two artists received gold medals for Best of Show: Peter Adams, who won for his oil painting Prajnaparamita, Perfection of Wisdom; and Béla Bácsi, who won for his sculpture Octopus. Also receiving recognition was Richard Humphrey, who won the newly created Edgar Payne Award for Best Landscape Painting for his piece The Cliffs and Sea at Point Vicente. Other artists featured in the exhibition were Warren Chang, Calvin Liang, Jeremy Lipking, and Howard Sabin.
