Hundreds of art professors and art students gathered to network and attend a variety of seminars at the 95th Annual College Art Association (CAA) Conference, which took place at the New York Hilton, in Manhattan, February 14 through February 17.

The conference boasted approximately 200 seminars for art academics on a variety of topics such as incorporating digital tools in the classroom, getting an MBA degree, as well as French art from the 14th through the 16th centuries. Students attended a job fair and career-advice seminars, and networked with colleagues in the student lounge. Attendees also browsed the Book and Trade Fair, where more than 100 art-material and academic-book vendors offered valuable advice and the chance to request free textbook samples for courses.

Technology advancements were also evident throughout the fair with the presence of companies that license images—or even offer them for free—for educational use. The most notable vendor at the fair was Ugallery.com—an online destination where emerging young artists can showcase and sell their work. The company also offers career advice, including help with artist statements and the appropriate pricing of artwork. Best of all, these services are completely free and include the display of up to 16 pieces of artwork on the site, as well as packaging and shipping if art is sold.
