The artwork of nationally recognized plein air painters Greg LaRock, Jeff Sewell, Carolyn Hesse-Low, Jeff Yeomans, and JoAnn Royal will be the subject of a celebratory exhibition at Rainey Fine Art, in Newport Beach, California. The gallery is commemorating its first anniversary by featuring the works of the same plein air artists who helped opened its doors a year prior in the landmark “Bubbles” building on Balboa Island.

The exhibition will be on view from August 21 through October 2, with an opening reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on August 21st, and will feature plein air paintings of Newport Harbor, Back Bay, and other Southern California landscapes. An educational component will complement the fine-art exhibition, with featured artist Jeff Sewell leading a plein air demonstration for adult artists from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24; and another demonstration for 4th through 6th graders on Saturday, September 26, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Engaging artists at a young age and bringing all the arts under one roof is part of the overarching mission of Rainey Fine Art, as defined by painter, dancer, writer, and gallery owner Lisa Rainey. It is the artist’s hope that the gallery will serve as an epicenter in the Orange County community for a broad range of artistic output and inspire the public through the skill, dedication, and talent of those the gallery represents.
