Painting Chrome

24 Feb 2009

Q: What colors are required for painting chrome?

A:
Because chrome is shiny, you should use strong contrasting values.  For best results, imagine you are painting a mirror. The reflections will distort as they follow the shape of the chrome object. Although chrome is a cool gray, you will probably use a lot of white for the bright areas. Try using ivory black or Paynes gray for the hard edges and shadows.
