As much as I love the holidays I also stress a lot about
gift-giving. I'm a people pleaser and want the friends and loved ones in my
life to feel appreciated, which means I can sometimes get super anxious about how to show
them how I feel.

With my artist friends, it's quite the opposite. I don't
have to worry about what I get them--not because I don't cherish their
friendships equally to others in my life, but because with artists an art gift
is always the perfect gift! That's truly what I've discovered!
Giving a person passionate about art anything to do with art
is a winning idea and one that I employ regularly, whether it is books on
artists they love, art supplies they need, a great book on technique, or a
resource that shows fun or alternative painting methods. I know that no matter
what gift I decide on, I really don't have to worry that it's the "right" gift
because if they love art they are going to be pleased. And what's more, I
especially love searching out these gifts because I'm equally passionate about
art. It puts the joy back into my holiday season for sure!
This year my job has gotten even easier because I discovered
the Artist's Network Holiday Gift Guides. I just spent waaaaaay too much time
poring over all the great gift ideas they have, from gifts for acrylic artists
to oil painters to the watercolorist "Five Fabulous Gifts" that are just
perfect for a friend of mine who is just discovering watercolor painting. It's
a smorgasbord of good ideas--and you know I took note of a few I just might "gift"
Now I can just revel in the excitement of showing the
artists in my life I care knowing that the gifts I end up selecting from the
Holiday Gift Guides will suit them perfectly. So take a look and see what might
be right for you and the art lovers in your life. And new gift guides are being added all the time so check back as often as you want--I know I will be doing the same! To a happy holiday season--enjoy!
