Our newest free eBook, “24 Tips to Learn How to Paint a Plein Air Landscape,” is now available to download, and in it you’ll find tips on how to get started working en plein air and how to improve your en plein air painting technique.Featured artist Donald Demers emphasizes the importance of learning from each landscape painting, whether it’s a successful one or a disappointment, and members of the Plein-Air Painters of America (PAPA) stress the need to maintain focus, especially when painting chaotic garden scenes.
"I don't belong to the art police so I won't fine people for using colors that aren't on my palette." - Donald Demers
Another great resource: One of my favorite blogs on Artist Daily is the Plein Air blog, which is written by senior editor Allison Malafronte.
In it, Allison posts items ranging from notices about paint-outs and
competitions (including ours) to highlights of exhibitions and
interesting information about historically significant plein air
painters. All in all it’s a great source of information for anyone
interested in plein air painting, and now we’ve got even more great oil
painting information for both aspiring and established artists.
Check out this helpful download today (in addition to the other many resources on Artist Daily) and get the tips you need to become a better plein air painter!
