One Morning

6 x 11 inches, colored pencil on museum board. My most recent colored pencil piece. An ocean view from a morning walk on Edisto Beach, SC.

Winter Field

6 x 8 inches, graphite on 500 Bristol board. This is a scene from my neighborhood, last winter when there was snow!

Water Dance

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 7.5 x 9.5 inches. My most recently completed piece.

Sea Urchin

5.5 x 7.5 inches, colored pencil on Rising Museum board. In keeping with my beachy theme

Long Time

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 5.5 x 7.5 inches. A treasure found on the beach. I liked its weathered appearance and subtle color variations. The strong shadow created when it sat in the bright sunlight inspired me to try to draw this shell with all of its texture highlighted.

Ocean Blue

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 7.5 x 9.5 inches. Every time we visit the beach I take tons of photos of the surf. So I decided to put some of those saved images to good use. On one recent trip the water was an amazing blue, which I tried to capture in this drawing.

Cloud I

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 8 x 8 inches. I love the landscapes in the sky.

Drawing Stones

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 5.5 x7.5 inches. A collection of river rocks posed for this still life.

Roots

Colored pencil on Rising Museum board, 8 x 8 inches. I was interested in the patterns and textures of the forest floor.

Stillness

6 x 8 inches, oil on canvas, #21 of my 100 painting project. This is from a trail walk on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.
